Riyadh hosts global energy week as OPEC+ maintains production levels

Saudi Arabia is hosting a major international energy week in Riyadh from October 11 to 15, 2026. The event serves as a global hub for energy policy, investment, and innovation, attracting over 25,000 participants, including approximately 70 to 100 ministers, hundreds of corporate executives, and leaders from over 25 international organizations.

Key components of the week include the 25th WPC Energy Congress, themed ‘Pathways to an Energy Future for All,’ and the 17th International Energy Forum (IEF17). Additionally, the schedule features the 17th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM17) and the 11th Innovation Mission (MI-11) to discuss accelerating energy technology adoption. The week also includes the 16th session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity to foster regional cooperation.

Amidst these discussions, seven key OPEC+ members, including Saudi Arabia and Russia, have opted to maintain their October 2026 production levels. This decision reflects a cautious approach to market stability and supply resilience amidst ongoing geopolitical tensions. The gathering aims to address the balance between oil-market stability and the global transition toward lower-carbon energy systems.
