RIZIN Nagasaki main event weight limit adjusted after Usami exceeds limit

The main event of RIZIN LANDMARK 16 in Nagasaki, featuring Keigo Horie against Patrick Usami, will proceed under a revised weight limit. During the official weigh-in, Usami exceeded the initial 71.0kg limit, weighing in at 72.65kg, while Horie passed at 70.95kg.

Following discussions between both camps, RIZIN CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara announced that the contract weight has been adjusted to 72.65kg for both fighters. Because the bout is not a title match, the organization proposed this change to ensure a competitive fight. Consequently, standard rules will apply without penalties or the possibility of a no-contest.

Prior to the weigh-in, Horie expressed his determination to perform well in his hometown of Nagasaki, noting his preparation in the United States to strengthen his mental game. Usami, who is working under a new support structure including Ren Hiramoto, has focused on physical strengthening and improved striking rhythm to prepare for the matchup.
