RML Hospital Super Speciality Block secures fire safety clearance

Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital in New Delhi has received fire safety clearance for its new 666-bed Super Speciality Block (SSB). This development removes a major obstacle to commissioning the 11-storey facility, which was built at a cost of ₹482 crore.

Once fully operational, the new block will increase the hospital's total bed capacity from 1,538 to 2,204. The facility is designed to house 18 operation theatres, 99 ICU beds, 196 High Dependency Unit (HDU) beds, and three catheterisation laboratories.

The block will provide advanced medical services, including oncology, oncosurgery, hepatology, gastrointestinal surgery, and liver transplantation. It will also feature two linear accelerators for cancer treatment and a nuclear medicine department equipped with PET scan facilities.
