RNI party unveils election manifesto ahead of Morocco's 2026 elections

Ahead of the Moroccan parliamentary elections on September 23, 2026, the ruling National Rally of Independents (RNI) has unveiled its election manifesto, titled ‘Dignity and Opportunity for All’. Led by Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, the party’s platform focuses on three pillars: protecting purchasing power, ensuring public service quality, and promoting economic inclusion by integrating the informal sector into the formal economy.

A key component of the RNI program is an automatic adjustment mechanism designed to link social assistance to inflation, specifically targeting food and energy costs. This measure aims to benefit approximately four million families. Additionally, the party emphasizes infrastructure and resource management, highlighting desalination projects in regions like Chichoua Ait Baha to mitigate water shortages.

During recent campaign stops in the Taroudant and Souss-Massa regions, Akhannouch emphasized the importance of local representation and highlighted government achievements in water management and agricultural irrigation. However, the campaign has faced local challenges; a tour through the northern coast of Agadir reportedly ended in tension in Aourir following heated exchanges with residents. Furthermore, the party is facing internal friction in the Agadir region following the public departure of Abdelghani Bouaïchi from the RNI.
