RO Bike Valley organizes cycling events for European Mobility Week

The “Marea Pedalare” (Great Cycling) event will take place from September 16 to 22, 2026, as part of European Mobility Week in western Romania. Coordinated by the RO Bike Valley team and supported by Decathlon Romania, the initiative aims to encourage outdoor movement and promote cycling as a viable alternative for transportation.

Organized rides are scheduled across 12 communities within the Timiș, Caraș-Severin, and Hunedoara counties. Participating locations include Timișoara, Bocșa, Reșița, Ezeriș, Oțelu Roșu, Măru, Bodo (Balinț commune), Oravița, Jimbolia, Baia de Criș, Recaș, and Caransebeș.

Daniela Chesaru, director of the Timișoara Community Foundation, described the event as an invitation to move together and discover local areas through cycling. The program includes various activities, such as workshops for primary school students and organized rides through cities like Oravița and Reșița.
