Argentina provinces implement regional infrastructure and climate prevention measures

Various Argentine provinces are implementing diverse infrastructure and emergency measures to address regional needs and climate risks.

In Santiago del Estero, authorities are intensifying preventive works on the Dulce River, using heavy machinery to reinforce defenses and manage water flow in anticipation of heavy rains caused by the El Niño phenomenon. Similarly, in Corrientes, the government is accelerating hydraulic works and channel cleaning to mitigate flood risks, while in Entre Ríos, officials are coordinating with Unicef to assist approximately 7,000 evacuees displaced by the rising Paraná River.

Infrastructure projects are also advancing in other regions. In La Rioja, Governor Ricardo Quintela announced a 3 billion peso provincial investment to complete the Chilecito gas pipeline, bypassing the need for national funds. In the Colorado River region, officials reported that work on the new EB22 pumping station is progressing ahead of schedule, with water supply expected to normalize shortly. Additionally, in Formosa, provincial leaders are conducting integrated health and administrative service operations in remote western communities to maintain state presence.
