Río Grande offers mandatory food handling certification training

The Municipality of Río Grande is offering training and certification for the Safe Food Handling Card to enhance safety within the local food sector. In accordance with Article 21 of the Argentine Food Code, this personal and non-transferable document is mandatory for anyone working with food. The certificate is valid nationwide for a period of three years.

To obtain or renew the card, individuals must complete a mandatory online course provided by the Directorate of Bromatology, which operates under the Secretariat of Health. The training is available year-round. Interested residents can register through the municipal website by creating a user profile and uploading their ID and a selfie.

After completing the online material, applicants must schedule an exam through the platform. Once the exam is passed, the final step requires uploading a medical certificate confirming fitness for food handling. This initiative aims to strengthen public health policies and support local labor development.
