Río Negro to manage National Routes 22, 151 and Tren del Valle

Río Negro and the Argentine national government are formalizing the transfer of management for National Routes 22 and 151, along with the Tren del Valle railway service, to the provincial administration. The agreement, signed at Casa Rosada, follows months of negotiations regarding financial responsibilities and existing construction contracts. The transfer covers approximately 560 kilometers of strategic corridors essential for the Alto Valle region and the transport of hydrocarbons related to Vaca Muerta.

To fund immediate maintenance and infrastructure improvements, Río Negro is managing an international credit of approximately $60 million through Fonplata. Planned interventions include pothole repair, shoulder recovery, and signaling. Additionally, the province is designing a second elevated railway bridge over Route 151 to resolve traffic bottlenecks and improve safety between Cipolletti and Neuquén.

In other regional developments, paving works on Provincial Route 23 between the Uruguay and Colón departments have surpassed 40% progress, representing an investment of over 29 billion pesos. Meanwhile, in Catamarca, a new 350-meter bridge over the Santa María River has been inaugurated to improve connectivity in the northwest region.
