Río Negro Province launches new Secretariat of Youth
The government of Argentina's Río Negro province has created a new Secretariat of Youth, a transversal unit within the State aimed at giving young people a formal space to express ideas, participate in decision‑making and influence public policies. Governor Alberto Weretilneck announced the launch on social media and named 25‑year‑old Milagros Antonella Calvo as the Secretariat’s head.
The Secretariat will coordinate youth‑related actions across education, employment, production, culture, sport, health, technology and social development. It is structured around three directorates – Participation and Youth Citizenship, Training, Employment and Innovation, and Integral Youth Development – and will establish regional and local youth councils to link provincial authorities with communities. The goal is to strengthen a shared Río Negro youth identity and provide concrete opportunities for training, entrepreneurship and civic involvement.
