Road Maintenance Projects Launched in Romania and Moldova

The Cluj County Council in Romania has begun a 20‑kilometre maintenance program on county road DJ 161B Bogata – Călărași – Câmpia Turzii. The works involve resurfacing the carriageway, filling potholes, treating surface deformations, clearing drainage ditches and trimming roadside vegetation.

In Moldova, the National Roads Administration completed periodic maintenance on roughly 11 kilometres of the R3 highway linking Chişinău, Hînceşti, Cimişlia, Basarabeasca and the Ukrainian border. The project applied a cold slurry seal, performed milling and pothole patching, and refreshed longitudinal and transverse road markings. Similar interventions were carried out on a 5‑kilometre section of the R26 road. Both programmes were funded from road‑maintenance budgets, with Moldova’s investment totaling about 19 million lei.
