Road Renovation Projects Begin in Eppingen and Celle, Germany
Starting on 20 July, the towns of Eppingen and Celle in Germany will carry out extensive road renovation work. In Eppingen‑Adelshofen, the 800‑metre stretch of Adelshofer Straße will be overhauled in four sections over an estimated 22 months, with parallel upgrades to the L 550 on Hilsbacher Straße, including replacement of water and sewage pipes, broadband, sidewalks and barrier‑free crossings. Traffic will be rerouted via B 293 and local streets, and several bus stops, such as Zylinderhof and Emil‑Thoma‑Straße, will be temporarily inaccessible.
In Celle, the deck of Windmühlenstraße between Neuehäuser Straße and the Hannoversche Heerstraße will be renewed in two phases. The first phase runs from 20 July to 6 August with partial one‑way traffic and continued bus line 11 service; full closure follows from 27 July to 2 August, after which the second phase proceeds from 7 August to 11 August, involving complete road closure and bus diversions. Pedestrians, cyclists and residents are provided alternative routes and temporary bus stops.
Both projects cause significant traffic detours and temporary suspension of public‑transport stops, with local authorities urging commuters to follow posted signs and plan extra travel time.
