Road repair works underway in Tecate and San Cristóbal de Las Casas

Local authorities in Mexico are conducting road repair and pothole patching projects to improve urban infrastructure and road safety.

In Tecate, the State Public Services Commission (CESPTE) has concluded a recent round of pothole repairs using hydraulic concrete. The works covered several key areas, including Bulevar Universidad and various streets in the Colonia Militar. To date, the agency has repaired 1,565 square meters of concrete, 471 square meters of asphalt, and 95 square meters of sidewalks. Repairs are scheduled to continue between August 10 and 14 in the Juárez, Loma Alta, and Pliego neighborhoods.

In San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mayor Fabiola Ricci Diestel announced that pothole repairs have begun on a 3.6-kilometer stretch of the San Cristóbal–Chamula highway. The project, supported by Governor Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar and the State Roads Commission of Chiapas, aims to enhance mobility ahead of a new highway construction project slated for late 2026 or early 2027. Due to the rainy season, work will be limited to morning hours for the next three to four weeks.
