Road upgrades in Stare Proboszczewice and Tarnogród progress in Poland
The Mazowieckie regional road authority has entered the final phase of the reconstruction of road 540 near Stare Proboszczewice. The 1.9 km stretch, contracted to Balzola Polska for roughly 29.5 million zł, now has its new bituminous wearing course laid, with finishing works, signage and drainage systems underway. The upgrade adds two 3.5 m traffic lanes, pedestrian sidewalks, bicycle paths and modern runoff treatment to protect the nearby Wierzbica stream.
In the Lublin Voivodeship, the municipality of Tarnogród completed the refurbishment of two local streets – Sienkiewicza and Mickiewicza – in the Błonie estate. Funded jointly by the Government Road Development Fund and the gmina’s budget, the 481 k zł project provided new 6 m‑wide pavements with two traffic lanes each, gravel shoulders and improved safety features. Both initiatives aim to enhance road safety and local mobility for residents.
