Poland rolls out multiple road, tram and water infrastructure projects
Local authorities across Poland are carrying out a wave of infrastructure upgrades. In Gmina Włoszczowa, road modernisation works on several municipal streets and a new county road in Kuzki are underway, with total investment exceeding 2 million zł. The county road Wąsosz‑Modzele is being rebuilt over 3.589 km at a cost of more than 3.943 million zł, financed by the Road Development Fund and local sources. In the Krośnieńskie county, the 462‑metre county road 1943R Jaszczew‑Wojaszówka in Bajdy is being reconstructed, budgeted at about 1.1 million zł and scheduled for completion in October 2026. The A2 highway between Warsaw and Łódź will be widened with third and fourth lanes and equipped with OPP speed‑monitoring devices, with works set to start in September on the Grodzisk‑Konotopa segment. Warsaw’s underground tram tunnel under Aleje Jerozolimskie has received its final concrete slab, fire‑protection coating and hydrant installations, bringing the tunnel close to completion. In Bydgoszcz, the Las Gdański tram loop is being modernised and is expected to be finished before the end of the year. A new water‑pumping station in Pleszew has entered the trial phase and will be fully commissioned soon, featuring UV‑lamp disinfection technology. A new local road in Rębiechowo (Kobylin) is being built for roughly 372 thousand zł and should be ready within months. Finally, Tarnów will launch a free, electric “busik” on a 5‑km route from 3 August, operating for two months at no charge.
