Roadwork Closure of Parallelweg Near Nieuwe‑Tonge, NL, Until Early July 2026

From 22 June to 3 July 2026 the parallelweg at the junction of De Tram and Molendijk near Nieuwe‑Tonge will be closed for construction. The work is carried out in two phases: the first phase reshapes the berms and road surface, removes the guardrail, and installs new lighting, conduit and drainage works. The second phase, from 3 to 5 July, involves lowering the intersection, grinding the asphalt, and laying two new layers of surfacing.

During the closure the road remains open to cyclists, while agricultural traffic can use the main carriageway. Destination traffic may be detoured via Vroonweg. A shuttle service for cyclists will operate from Friday 3 July 20:00 to Sunday 5 July 18:00, allowing riders to park their bikes and be transported by taxi to the main road. The upgrades also include new parking strips and bike‑suggestion lanes intended to reduce speeds.

The construction is expected to finish by late July, after which the parallelweg will reopen with its new layout and markings.
