Balkan infrastructure works cause utility and traffic disruptions
Various regions across the Balkans are experiencing significant infrastructure maintenance, leading to utility outages and traffic disruptions.
In Montenegro, EPCG, CGES, and CEDIS are planning to build a joint energy sector data center at the Nikšić railway site to secure critical infrastructure data. Meanwhile, roadworks on the Đurđevića Tara bridge and other regional routes have caused total traffic suspensions for both vehicles and pedestrians.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, major roadworks on the A-1 highway and various regional routes are causing traffic diversions. Sarajevo is also facing water pressure reductions during nighttime hours due to drought conditions and the need to protect the water supply system.
In Serbia and Croatia, planned maintenance on electrical and gas networks is resulting in scheduled power and gas outages in several cities, including Zaječar and various locations in Croatia. Additionally, the reconstruction of the old Ibarski bridge in Kraljevo has led to its complete closure to all traffic.
