Roadworks in Belgium and the Netherlands trigger major traffic delays

In Korbeek‑Dijle, Belgium, required works on the church tower on 29‑30 June will place a height‑adjustable crane on public roads, halting bus service, stopping waste collection and restricting the Korbeekse Kerkstraat to local traffic. Detours are provided via the opposite side of the street on the first day and a larger diversion via Neerijse, Sint‑Joris‑Weert and Oud‑Heverlee on the second day.

In the Netherlands, the provincial road N377 between Hasselt and De Lichtmis will be closed from 7 September to 27 November for extensive resurfacing and rebuilding. Drivers are redirected to the A28 via Zwolle or Meppel, with heavy‑truck restrictions on the Zwartewaterbrug. The project includes safety upgrades such as new bus stops, improved cyclist/pedestrian crossings and a faunatunnel for wildlife.

Both projects cause significant temporary traffic disruptions and require drivers to use alternative routes.
