Lizzy Caplan joins FX's Far Cry TV series adaptation

Actress Lizzy Caplan has been added to the cast of an upcoming live‑action television series based on Ubisoft’s Far Cry video‑game franchise. The series, being developed by FX (and slated for Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally), will follow an anthology format where each season tells a new story with a fresh cast and setting, mirroring the games’ structure.

The project is led by creator‑showrunner Noah Hawley, known for Fargo and Alien: Earth, alongside actor‑producer Rob Mac, who will also star. Details about Caplan’s character remain undisclosed. The series will be produced by FX Productions with a large executive‑producer team that includes Hawley, Mac, Emilia Serrano and representatives from Ubisoft Film & Television. No premiere date has been announced and production has not yet begun.

This will be the first live‑action TV adaptation of the Far Cry franchise; the property previously saw a 2008 direct‑to‑video film and a 2023 animated series on Netflix. Since its debut in 2004, the Far Cry games have attracted over 100 million unique players worldwide, with the most recent main entry, Far Cry 6, released in 2021.
