Robert Lambert wins Speedway World Championship in Toruń

Robert Lambert has become the new Speedway Grand Prix World Champion following the season finale in Toruń, Poland. The British rider secured his first career world title by winning the decisive round at the MotoArena, ending the four-year dominance of Poland's Bartosz Zmarzlik.

The championship battle was exceptionally close, involving three riders: Lambert, Zmarzlik, and Australia's Brady Kurtz. Despite Zmarzlik entering the final round as the leader after a strong performance in the qualifying sprint, he finished third in the final race, which allowed Lambert to overtake him in the overall standings by just two points.

Zmarzlik concludes the season with a silver medal, marking his tenth individual world championship medal. He expressed satisfaction with his achievement despite the loss, stating, “Even as a child, I did not dream of such things.” Kurtz secured the bronze medal to complete the podium.
