Roberto Fernández called up to Spain national team

Roberto Fernández, the 24-year-old striker for RCD Espanyol, has received his first call-up to the Spanish national team. The announcement was made by manager Luis de la Fuente following Spain's recent success.

Fernández has demonstrated strong form, scoring six goals in the first six league matches. He becomes the 49th player in RCD Espanyol's history to be called up to the senior national team, the first from the club since Joselu Mato in March 2023. Having joined the club in January 2025 without prior top-division experience, Fernández has recorded 19 goals in 65 matches for the side.
