Roberto Soldic joins UFC after ONE Championship inactivity

MMA fighter Roberto Soldic has revealed that his new contract with the UFC pays substantially less than his previous agreement with ONE Championship. Despite the lower compensation, Soldic stated that his move was motivated by a desire for consistent activity rather than financial gain.

Soldic explained that during his four-year tenure with ONE Championship, he signed a ten-fight deal that promised opportunities in kickboxing, Muay Thai, and boxing. However, he only competed in three fights during that period. He cited difficulty in finding opponents and unfulfilled promises as primary reasons for his departure, noting that a potential matchup with ONE welterweight champion Christian Lee failed to materialize after Soldic signed a bout agreement in June.

Soldic expressed satisfaction with his move to the UFC, noting that his representatives negotiated for approximately six months before his debut was booked. He indicated a focus on his new chapter and making a strong impact on the UFC welterweight roster.
