Inter Milan intensifies pursuit of Tottenham defender Cristian Romero

Inter Milan have confirmed a strong interest in signing Tottenham Hotspur centre‑back Cristian Romero. Sporting director Piero Ausilio stated that the club sees Romero as a priority to reinforce the defence after the departures of Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij. Tottenham have set an asking price of about €50 million, but the London club appears ready to lower the figure to around €45‑50 million. Romero’s contract runs until 2029, and Inter are reportedly exploring a loan deal with an obligation to buy. Negotiations have progressed with Romero’s agent, Ciro Palermo, travelling to Milan for talks. While Inter lead the chase, other clubs – Chelsea, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona – have also been linked with the Argentine defender. The transfer is expected to take time and is not a quick deal.
