Robin Raikkonen may join F1 academy this year
Robin Raikkonen, the 11-year-old son of former Formula 1 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen, may join an F1 driver academy before the end of this year. Gino Rosato, a close family friend and godfather to Robin, indicated that the family is currently evaluating various options to support the young driver's development.
Robin has been competing in karting and has recently shown promising results in international championships. Rosato emphasized that the decision will be based on providing the best environment for genuine racing development rather than relying on the Raikkonen name. While Rosato, a consultant for Red Bull Racing, declined to name a specific team, he noted that the goal is to establish a structured path through Formula 4, Formula 3, and Formula 2.
Kimi Raikkonen is reportedly taking a realistic approach to his son's career, stating he will not force the profession if Robin loses interest in racing.
