Roblox faces safety protest and shifts focus toward adult creators

During the Roblox Developer Conference, YouTuber Emathiio interrupted CEO David Baszucki’s opening keynote. Wearing a shirt that read “Children deserve better,” the creator was quickly escorted from the stage by security.

In a subsequent video, Emathiio stated the protest was intended to advocate for improved child safety on the platform, criticizing the slow pace of progress regarding user protection.

Separately, Roblox is implementing a new strategic direction to move beyond its reputation as a platform exclusively for children. The company is launching marketing campaigns aimed at adult creators, positioning the ecosystem as a professional tool for developing video games, digital experiences, and interactive communities.
