Roblox implements major child safety updates in Indonesia
Roblox has implemented significant safety changes in Indonesia to comply with child protection regulations. Following six months of the PP Tunas policy, Indonesia's Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, identified Roblox as a platform making the most substantial efforts to protect young users among several high-risk digital services.
Key updates include an age classification system that automatically moved approximately 23 million Indonesian accounts to ‘Roblox Kids’. The platform is also utilizing strict age estimation technology, including facial recognition, and has removed chat features with unknown individuals for child accounts to mitigate interaction risks. The Ministry noted that these modifications were specifically developed and applied to address the Indonesian market.
