Robotic automation expands to pool and garden maintenance

New developments in smart home automation are expanding into outdoor maintenance, specifically targeting pool and garden care.

Aiper has introduced the Scuba V3 Ultra, a robotic pool cleaner utilizing Cognitive AI Navium™ Mode. The system is designed to optimize cleaning routines based on pool size, weather conditions, and cleaning history, allowing for up to seven days of autonomous maintenance.

At IFA 2026 in Berlin, Roborock showcased an expanded portfolio including indoor, garden, and pool solutions. Key highlights include the Saros Rover, a vacuum robot featuring a unique wheel-and-leg architecture designed to navigate stairs and obstacles. Other models include the Saros 20 Flow Complete and Saros 20 Neo, which feature high suction power and specialized chassis for navigating tight spaces and thresholds. The company is also introducing automated lawn care solutions, such as the RockNeo Q2 LiDAR mower.
