Robots march in Poland to demand stricter AI regulation

Approximately 30 robots, including humanoids and quadrupeds, marched through the streets of Warsaw, Poland, to demand stricter government regulation of artificial intelligence. The demonstration took place in front of the Ministry of Digital Affairs to advocate for the protection of human employment.

Organized by the initiative Democratism, the protest aimed to spark debate regarding the impact of AI and robotization on the labor market. Participants used slogans such as ‘Defend jobs’ and ‘It is time to establish rules’ to emphasize that these technologies are a current reality rather than a distant future. One humanoid robot, the Agibot A3, even interacted with journalists during the event.

Organizer Grzegorz Kuliś highlighted the risks of humanoid robots replacing workers in specific tasks, noting that cognitive jobs are increasingly exposed to AI advancements. Kuliś argued for the immediate implementation of regulations to serve as a ‘protective barrier’ for workers before the impact on the labor market becomes irreversible.
