In Poland, the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence and robotics has prompted both social activism and institutional development.

On September 15, 2026, approximately 30 robots participated in a demonstration in Warsaw organized by the initiative Democratism. Protesters gathered at the Ministry of Digital Affairs to demand stricter government regulations to protect human employment from automation. Organizer Grzegorz Kuliś advocated for immediate rules to serve as a ‘protective barrier’ for workers against the risks posed by humanoid and cognitive AI advancements.

Following these calls for oversight, the Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications in Automation and Robotics (CESAR) was established. This center is a collaborative effort involving the Łukasiewicz Research Network, the Polish Academy of Sciences, and ten technical universities. CESAR aims to integrate research in machine learning and autonomous systems to support defense, security, and industry, providing a platform for the safe testing of technologies to enhance the global competitiveness of Polish enterprises.
