Rocco advances Brazilian release of bestseller 'Bons Tempos: Yesteryear
The Brazilian publisher Rocco has announced the early release of 'Bons Tempos: Yesteryear' (Good Times: Yesteryear), the debut novel by American journalist Caro Claire Burke. Due to high demand during pre-sales, copies will be available in major bookstores in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro this Saturday, ahead of the official nationwide launch on Monday, August 17.
The book has become a massive success in the United States, selling approximately 1.4 million copies in five months and topping 'The New York Times' best-seller list and TikTok’s 'BookTok' charts. The story follows Natalie, a digital influencer whose curated image of a perfect domestic life is challenged when she wakes up in the year 1855. The narrative uses satire to critique the 'tradwife' movement and the contrast between social media perfection and historical reality.
In addition to its literary success, Amazon MGM Studios has acquired the film rights, with Anne Hathaway set to star in and produce the adaptation.
