Roche and Hansoh Pharma sign second ADC licensing deal
Roche and China-based Hansoh Pharmaceutical Group have entered into a new strategic collaboration and license agreement to develop novel antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) for various cancer types. This marks the second ADC partnership between the two companies following a previous agreement last year.
The deal includes two preclinical ADC programs from Hansoh and several programs utilizing Hansoh’s proprietary technology platform applied to targets proposed by Roche. Hansoh will lead early development through the completion of global Phase Ia trials. Roche will then manage subsequent global development, excluding the Greater China region (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan), where Hansoh retains all rights to develop, register, and commercialize the programs.
Financially, Hansoh will receive an upfront payment of $400 million and a $110 million milestone payment at the one-year mark. Depending on development, regulatory approval, and commercial success, Hansoh is eligible for additional milestone payments exceeding $15 billion, alongside tiered royalties on future sales. Hansoh also holds an option to directly participate in the global development of up to two programs outside of Greater China, which would grant it a share of US commercialization revenues.
