Roche pharmaceutical licensing expansions

Overview

Roche has entered into several high-value licensing agreements to expand its pharmaceutical pipeline across multiple therapeutic areas.

In mid-October 2026, the company secured global rights to Alector’s preclinical Parkinson’s disease candidate, AL050, in a deal worth up to US$1.27 billion. Additionally, Roche signed a global agreement with Rona Therapeutics for an experimental obesity treatment valued at up to US$1.16 billion, which utilizes RNA interference to target the ALK7 receptor.

Shortly after, Roche entered a second strategic collaboration with China-based Hansoh Pharmaceutical Group focused on developing novel antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) for cancer treatment. Under this agreement, Hansoh will lead early development through Phase Ia trials, while Roche will manage subsequent global development outside of the Greater China region. This partnership includes an upfront payment of $400 million to Hansoh, with potential milestone payments exceeding $15 billion.
