Rochester, Minnesota residents face charges in separate weapon incidents

Two separate criminal cases involving the brandishing of weapons have been documented in Rochester, Minnesota.

Jarred Lee Clement, a 27-year-old security guard, has been charged with one count of second-degree assault following an incident at a downtown hotel on Peace Plaza. Surveillance footage reportedly shows Clement pointing a silver object at a victim and pressing it into their jawline, causing the individual to fall. While Clement initially denied using a firearm, court documents state he later admitted to brandishing a weapon and using it to push the victim back, claiming he acted out of fear for his life after being threatened.

In a separate matter, 42-year-old Lawrence James Hamilton has entered a plea agreement for felony terroristic threats. The charge stems from a September incident at an apartment complex where Hamilton allegedly brandished a BB gun that resembled a Sig Sauer P365 to threaten a woman and a juvenile. During a subsequent search of his residence, police seized the BB gun and two boxes of 9 mm ammunition. Hamilton, who has a history of felony domestic assault convictions, is scheduled for sentencing in November.
