Weapon-related criminal incidents in Rochester

Overview

In Rochester, Minnesota, two separate criminal cases involving the brandishing of weapons have emerged.

Jarred Lee Clement, a 27-year-old security guard, faces one count of second-degree assault following an incident at a downtown hotel. Surveillance footage reportedly shows Clement pointing a silver object at a victim and pressing it into their jawline. While Clement initially denied using a firearm, court documents state he later admitted to brandishing a weapon and using it to push the victim back, claiming he acted out of fear for his life.

Separately, 42-year-old Lawrence James Hamilton entered a plea agreement for felony terroristic threats. The charge relates to a September incident where Hamilton allegedly used a BB gun resembling a Sig Sauer P365 to threaten a woman and a juvenile. Police seized the BB gun and ammunition during a search of his residence. Hamilton is scheduled for sentencing in November.
