Rock in Rio 2026 adds immersive shows and expands food venues

The 2026 edition of Brazil's Rock in Rio festival will broaden its entertainment offering with new immersive experiences. The aerial ballet The Flight returns fully revamped with new aircraft, choreography and visual effects. The street‑fair‑styled Feira Hype will feature a fresh layout and new artistic acts, while the headline attraction Ecco is designed to stimulate all five senses through music, dance, performance and visual effects. Traditional amusement rides such as a roller coaster, ferris wheel and zip line will remain, and the site will host about 860 food‑and‑beverage operations, ranging from quick‑service stalls to the larger Global Village dining area, including vegetarian and vegan options.

Internationally‑renowned DJ Alok will headline the festival on 11 September, opening the main stage with a show titled “Keep Art Human” that combines 1,500 drones in the sky and a human panel of 45 dancers. The performance highlights the fusion of music, technology and a defence of human creativity amid growing artificial‑intelligence influence. Alok, a top‑ranked DJ and UN Environment goodwill ambassador, will also appear on the following day for a family‑focused set, underscoring his personal journey from a childhood in Goânia to global stardom.
