Brazil 2026 music festival season

Entities: Rock in Rio · Rock in Rio · Stray Kids · Guns N’ Roses · BTS

Overview

The 2026 Brazilian festival calendar centers on Rock in Rio’s 385,000 m² site, which will host 190 shows by more than 1,300 artists. New infrastructure includes the LED‑covered Mundo stage, a revamped New Dance Order dance floor, 1,314 toilets, 168 drinking fountains and 120 km of cabling. Economic forecasts estimate a direct impact of R$ 3.36 billion and the creation of roughly 33,900 jobs. International headliners such as Foo Fighters, Calvin Harris, Elton John and Twenty One Pilots share the bill with Brazilian acts like João Gomes with the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, Capital Inicial, Sepultura, Barão Vermelho and Jota Quest.

A dedicated "Espaço Favela" stage traces the evolution of Brazilian funk, featuring Hitmaker, MC Cabelinho, MC Carol and DJ Dennis, while a fan‑driven #ColaNaGrade sub‑culture camps for up to 14 hours to stay close to the main stage. Additional performances spotlight emerging talent, including DJ/producer GIU’s back‑to‑back set with Carola and the Grammy‑winning band Os Garotin, who will also tour nationally on their "Força da Juventude" circuit.

João Rock sold out its August 1 shows and expanded with a nationwide "Palco Brasil" stage showcasing regional artists such as Os Tucumanus, Victor Xamã and the returning Nação Zumbi, plus a fifth Eisen Rock Station stage headlined by Rancore with fan‑curated activations.

The season also features Doce Maravilha, Sensacional! in Belo Horizonte, SESC’s FestA! in São Paulo, the Festival da Farinha in Cruzeiro do Sul, Portugal’s Santo Rock and Festas do Mar, and Lisbon’s inaugural Enóphilo Food Fest. A 24‑hour Metro service and three BRT lines support mobility, while digital tickets are managed through the Jaé and Quentro apps, with an extraordinary ticket sale on 6 August and a nationwide K‑pop tour adding further diversity.

A Black Women’s March in São Paulo on 25 July highlighted social activism alongside the cultural festivities.
