Rock in Rio 2026 set to generate R$3.3 billion for Rio de Janeiro's economy

The September 2026 edition of Rock in Rio will run on 4‑7 and 11‑13 September at the Parque Olímpico in Rio de Janeiro. Organizers expect about 700,000 attendees, roughly 100,000 per day, with 55‑60 % coming from outside the city.

A study by Fundação Getúlio Vargas estimates the festival will inject roughly R$3.3 billion into the state’s economy, create nearly 30,000 jobs and push hotel occupancy to 95 %. Ticket sales are up about 20 % versus the 2024 edition. Headliners include Foo Fighters, Maroon 5, Elton John and K‑pop group Stray Kids, while an additional Lightwire light‑music show will run in the Olympic arena.
