Rock in Rio 2026 to host 190 shows, generating $3.3 bn economic impact in Brazil

The 2026 edition of Rock in Rio in Rio de Janeiro is being built on a 385,000 m² site that will feature 190 concerts and more than 1,300 artists, including 45 international acts such as Foo Fighters, Calvin Harris, Elton John and Twenty One Pilots. The festival’s infrastructure will include a new Mundo stage entirely covered by high‑definition LED panels, a revamped New Dance Order dance floor, 1,314 toilets, 168 drinking fountains and 120 km of electrical cabling.

Economic estimates from FGV anticipate a direct impact of roughly R$ 3.36 billion (about $ 630 million) and the creation of 33,900 jobs. The lineup emphasizes Brazilian diversity, highlighting acts like João Gomes with the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, Capital Inicial, Sepultura, Barão Vermelho and Jota Quest, alongside international performers. Ticket sales are ongoing ahead of the September 4 opening.
