Rock in Rio returns for 11th edition with rock and pop lineup

The 11th edition of the Rock in Rio music festival is returning to the Olympic Park in Rio de Janeiro, featuring a lineup that balances rock and pop genres. Headliners include Foo Fighters, Avenged Sevenfold, Twenty One Pilots, Elton John, and Maroon 5, alongside electronic artist Calvin Harris and K-pop group Stray Kids.

This edition marks a strategic shift for the festival, moving away from previous experimental days dedicated solely to trap, women, or Brazilian artists in favor of a more balanced genre approach. The Foo Fighters return to the Brazilian stage following their recent performances, while Avenged Sevenfold and Rise Against represent the rock and heavy metal segments of the event.

Reflecting on past participation, singer Gabriel Gonti noted the professional impact of performing at the 2022 festival. Opening a stage alongside major artists like Coldplay and Djavan, Gonti highlighted the importance of maintaining high energy to captivate audiences, regardless of their prior familiarity with the performer.
