Rock in Rio sets attendance records and confirms 2026 festival dates

Rock in Rio has become one of the flagship summer music festivals in 2026, ranking alongside Portugal’s Rock in Rio Lisboa, NOS Alive and Primavera Sound. The Lisbon edition broke attendance records with 330,000 visitors from 127 countries, contributing to a total of more than one million festival-goers across the continent’s biggest events.

The Brazilian edition will return to Rio de Janeiro on 4‑7 and 11‑12 September 2026. Historical data shows that bands such as Metallica and Capital Inicial have each performed eight times, while Guns N’ Roses and Ivete Sangalo have delivered some of the longest shows, often exceeding two and a half hours.
