Rock in Rio: Top performers and 2026 lineup details

The Rock in Rio music festival continues to serve as a major platform for international and domestic artists. In the history of the Brazilian editions, Guns N’ Roses and Iron Maiden lead the ranking for the most performances, with five appearances each.

Looking ahead to the 2026 edition, scheduled for September 4–7 and 11–13, Foo Fighters and Maroon 5 are confirmed and may reach three performances each. Additionally, the Brazilian group Roupa Nova is set to return to the festival on September 7, 2026, for a special performance on the Sunset Stage alongside guest Guilherme Arantes. This marks the band's first appearance at the festival in 35 years, following their 1991 performance. Roupa Nova holds a unique connection to the event, having recorded the official theme song for the inaugural 1985 edition.
