Rocket Lab has unveiled GHOST (Global Hypersonic & Orbital Spaceport Technology), a mobile launch system designed to enable suborbital and orbital launches from virtually any location on Earth. The entire infrastructure is packaged within standard shipping containers, including rockets, launch hardware, ground support systems, and launch area control.

The system is compatible with the company’s Electron and HASTE rockets, allowing for rapid deployment and multi-launch flight campaigns. This versatility is intended to serve commercial applications and time-critical national security missions.

The first operational site for the GHOST system will be Rocket Lab Launch Complex 4 at the Pacific Spaceport Complex on Kodiak Island, Alaska. This facility will feature two launch pads to support intensive operations. The inaugural suborbital launch using the GHOST system is planned for 2027. This new Alaskan site will complement Rocket Lab’s existing launch capabilities in New Zealand and Virginia.
