Rocket Mortgage and CrossCountry Mortgage raise internal loan limits to $845,000

Rocket Mortgage and CrossCountry Mortgage have independently raised their internal one-unit conforming loan limits to $845,000. This move precedes the official 2027 baseline announcement from the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA).

The new $845,000 limit is $12,250 higher than the current 2026 national baseline of $832,750. By setting these internal limits early, the lenders aim to keep higher-balance borrowers within conventional financing channels rather than forcing them into the jumbo loan market. Jumbo loans, which are not eligible for purchase by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, typically involve different underwriting, pricing, and reserve requirements.

CrossCountry Mortgage introduced this change through its ‘Early Bird Program,’ while Rocket Mortgage applied the increase to both its direct mortgage services and its broker partners via Rocket Pro. The decision allows borrowers facing elevated home prices to access larger conforming loan amounts and potentially better pricing than jumbo products.
