Rocket workshops and space events held for youth in Japan

Various space-themed educational events were held in Japan to engage youth with rocket science and engineering.

In Yoshikawa, Saitama Prefecture, the Dream Rocket Project Yoshikawa Executive Committee organized a rocket workshop. The event featured a surprise lecture by Tsutomu Uematsu, the real-life model for the protagonist of the drama ‘Shitamachi Rocket’. Approximately 100 participants, including 39 children aged 4th grade to 18, attended. Rather than receiving direct instruction, children built their own rockets using manuals to encourage independent problem-solving and the ability to overcome failure.

In Noshiro, Akita Prefecture, the Akita Space Consortium hosted a space event at the Noshiro Space Field. The event included model rocket construction and launch experiences, attracting approximately 70 participants, including enthusiasts and families.
