Rockhampton Brahman Week concludes with $9.7 million gross
The Rockhampton Brahman Week sale at CQLX concluded with a total gross of $9,714,468 from 708 bulls sold, marking a significant increase from the previous year's $8.22 million gross. On the third day of the event, a red Brahman bull named My Ee C Gilgai, offered by My Ee Red Brahmans, sold for $200,000, equaling the sale record for red Brahmans.
This year's sale saw a 98% clearance rate across all lots. The grey bull category achieved a 99% clearance rate with a gross of $5,442,000.
The event also introduced a new digital feature in the sale catalogue: QR codes placed beside each lot number. These codes link to the BreedLOGIC platform, managed by the Agricultural Business Research Institute (ABRI), allowing buyers to instantly access animal data, pedigrees, and Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs). While the innovation received praise from some industry figures for its convenience, responses from attendees were mixed.
