Rockstar Games unveils $400 GTA VI merchandise collection

Rockstar Games has unveiled the Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, a premium merchandise bundle priced at approximately $400 (or €399.99). The collection has sparked significant controversy among fans because it does not include a copy of the Grand Theft Auto VI game itself; the software must be purchased separately.

The bundle contains 11 themed items inspired by the in-game television show featuring Macca the Gator. Key items include a six-inch Macca the Gator figurine, Oakley Frogskins sunglasses, a New Era 9FORTY snapback hat, a Leonida Keys crossbody bag, and various smaller accessories such as pins, stickers, a shot glass, and a commemorative map poster.

Community reaction has been mixed. While some appreciate the high-quality licensed goods, others have criticized the high price point and the absence of the game. Some fans have even turned to 3D printing to recreate the Macca the Gator figurine as a cost-effective alternative. Additionally, scalpers have already begun listing the collection on secondary markets like eBay for significantly higher prices, sometimes exceeding $1,500.
