Nadia Beller to testify in ANDIS corruption case from Bolivia

Nadia Beller, a lawyer who survived an assassination attempt in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, on August 17, is scheduled to testify as a witness in an Argentine judicial investigation. The case involves the former National Agency for Disability (ANDIS) and focuses on alleged bribery and overpricing in the procurement of medicines.

Beller will provide her testimony via videoconference from Bolivia to Argentine Federal Prosecutor Franco Picardi on September 23. Due to security concerns, the testimony will be held under strict confidentiality, and Bolivian prosecutors will be present to ensure her safety. Beller has previously testified in a Gesell Chamber in Bolivia regarding alleged illicit enrichment involving her former partner, political consultant Fernando Cerimedo.

Beller claims to possess recorded conversations with Cerimedo regarding corruption and asserts she knows the identity of the individual who leaked audio recordings of former ANDIS head Diego Spagnuolo. Her testimony is expected to cover various irregularities, including alleged overpricing in fuel distribution, the creation of a police elite team linked to Cerimedo, and potential payments to legislators to influence the approval of certain laws.
