Mattel and Paramount-Warner Bros. announce major leadership shifts

Mattel and the anticipated Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery merger are undergoing major leadership transitions. Ynon Kreiz, the current CEO of Mattel, will depart to become co-CEO of the combined Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery entity. In this new role, Kreiz will oversee day-to-day operations and business integration, while David Ellison will lead long-term strategy, creative direction, and technology. Kreiz is expected to begin his new role on October 5, following the expected closing of the $110 billion merger.

To succeed Kreiz at Mattel, the company has appointed Roger Lynch, currently the CEO of Condé Nast, as Chairman and CEO. Lynch will assume the role of Chairman on October 2 and take over as CEO on or before November 2. He has served on Mattel’s board since 2018. Following his departure from Condé Nast, Lynch will remain a member of its board of directors. Mike Perlis will serve as interim CEO of Condé Nast until a permanent successor is named.
