Rokycany police officers attacked by a fallow deer
A fallow deer caused disruption in the Czech town of Rokycany after entering a fenced area on Nad Kalvárií street. When municipal police officers approached the animal to document the situation and determine how to assist it, the deer charged directly at them. The officers had to jump out of the way to avoid impact, though no injuries were reported.
Following the initial encounter, the town received six separate reports of the deer wandering through streets including Na Pátku and Soukenická. A motorized patrol attempted to guide the animal safely out of the urban area using warning lights and sirens. The deer was eventually driven toward the Klabava River, but it ultimately escaped back into the forest area at Kalvárii.
Petr Wohlmuth, the commander of the Rokycany municipal police, noted that the animal's behavior may be attributed to the rutting season, which causes animals to become agitated and confused.
