Rolex charity auction raises nearly $50 million for environmental and educational causes
Rolex held its first-ever charity auction in London in partnership with Phillips, selling four unique Cosmograph Daytona timepieces from the ‘Four Seasons’ collection for a combined total of approximately $49.4 million (£37.3 million).
Each one-of-a-kind watch features precious metal cases, natural stone dials, and extensive gemstone settings. The ‘Summer’ model, crafted in Everose gold with a turquoise dial, fetched the highest price at $13.65 million. The ‘Autumn’ model sold for $13.5 million, the ‘Winter’ model for $13.2 million, and the ‘Spring’ model for $9 million.
All proceeds from the auction will be donated to two organizations: the Federer Foundation, established by Roger Federer, and Re:wild, a conservation organization co-founded by Leonardo DiCaprio. These donations support the Rolex Perpetual Planet Initiative.
