Rolex Swan Cup features record fleet in Porto Cervo

The 23rd edition of the Rolex Swan Cup has commenced in Porto Cervo, Italy, featuring a record fleet of 170 Nautor Swan yachts. The event, organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in collaboration with Nautor Swan and Rolex, marks the 60th anniversary of the Finnish shipyard's founding.

A highlight of the celebrations was the ‘Danza dei Cigni’, where the 170 vessels sailed in a circle around the Isola dei Monaci in the Maddalena Archipelago. The fleet represents the full history of the shipyard, ranging from the historic Swan 36-001, named Tarantella, to modern models like the Swan 80 Elvi.

Tarantella, a restored 36-foot yacht designed by Sparkman & Stephens, serves as a centerpiece to honor the legacy of Nautor Ab founder Pekka Koskenkylä. The shipyard's transition to using fiberglass in the late 1960s was a pivotal moment in offshore cruiser-racer design.
